I’m Matt, a photographer with more than 20 years of experience, and family photography is one of the core areas of my work. Before your session, I take time to understand what you want, who will participate, and the preferences or special details that matter to your family. Thoughtful planning helps us make useful choices about scheduling, location, and the photographs we’ll focus on.

We’ll discuss your vision, preferences, who will participate, and the types of photographs you want. Bring any ideas or special details that matter to your family so we can consider them in the planning.
Choosing a Location Together
Sessions may be in-home where appropriate, with a studio or studio-style setup, or outdoors around Edmonton. We’ll consider your family’s preferences, comfort, accessibility, the look you want, and outdoor weather. Particular studios and outdoor locations are subject to availability.
A Calm, Guided Session
I provide natural photographic direction while handling lighting, composition, and camera settings. My approach is patient and professionally guided, with flexibility when children need time to settle or a break. You don’t need to know how to arrange every photograph yourself.
Selecting the Strongest Images
After the session, I carefully review the photographs and select the strongest images. I look for expressions, connections, and portraits that reflect the family and the goals we discussed.
Individual Editing and Quality
The selected photographs are individually hand edited. Attention to quality continues through the editing process, with care for the details of each image as well as the collection as a whole.
Your Finished Photographs
Digital files are included. Most galleries are delivered within 2–3 weeks, depending on project size. This is a general timeframe rather than a guaranteed deadline.
Archival-quality prints and custom albums are available on request if you would like something to display or keep in print. These are additional options and are not included in the session’s starting price.
